Silvertone 1448 Amp-in-case

The Silvertone 1448 Amp-in-case isn't really a part of the Harmony family (despite the name). It was made by Danelectro (who may have made some of the amps sold under the Harmony name....). Great slide guitar, though.

WHAT'S THE STORY BEHIND THIS GUITAR?

This is something I tried out once or twice and hanged it on the wall to wait for the right moment. It's been on my wall for about five years waiting for a gig. And tonight is finally a Silvertone night (Grasslake R&B festival 27.1 2007). I've also played Kay nights every now and then.

WHAT'S GOOD AND BAD ABOUT THIS GUITAR (AND AMP)?

It's a short scale guitar which makes it a bit hard to play if you have big hands. That's why I only use it for slide. I've also played the two pickup version which was better. Getting it to stay in tune isn't always that easy. I should do something about the neck and the tuning pegs to get it working better. But it's a fun guitar to play. My main slide guitar is a 1956 Danelectro U1.
